St Catherine’s: Represented by the colour Red

St Catherine of Siena is the patron of this house. St Catherine is represented by the colour red. The house of St Catherine’s is inspired by a dear lady who became a patron saint. Catherine was born in Siena in Italy in the 14th Century. She was one of a very large family, so very early in life she learned to share what she had with others. She became interested in the Dominican order early in life and, although she did not enter the convent, she was closely connected with the work of the sister and the priests. As the Dominican motto is “Truth”, she was fearless in speaking out about trials and obstacles of the time.

The house of St Catherine’s stand high and represent themselves in events like St Dominic’s day, Swimming sports and athletics. Students battle towards victory for their houses, to gain house points and accomplish a win at the end of the day. Every student participates. If you’re not swimming, or running, then you’re screaming at the top of your lungs to support your other fellow house mates. The house of St Catherine’s is not always about winning the events but are fellowshipping together building trust, support and leadership just like their leader St Catherine of Siena.
